During this full-day excursion you will visit breathtaking scenery, see sea views, hear the history of the island's development, learn about Primorye's military past, visit forts and parts of the Vladivostok fortress.
You will cross the Golden Horn Bay and the Eastern Bosporus Strait over two magnificent bridges, the Golden Bridge and Russky Bridge, and enjoy panoramic views of the sea.
On the way, you will stop at the only island monastery in the Russian Far East that resembles a long, one-storey, barracks-style building. Lunch will take place in the monastery.
With the help of mountain-bike transport you will drive to Russky "mountain", the highest point on the island and one of the highest peaks in Vladivostok. The summit offers a magnificent view of Vladivostok, the island of Elena and the northern part of the "Russian island".
Your route will follow the bay to Fort No. 9, 166 m above sea level. In addition to the most powerful concrete defensive structures, Fort Prince Rurik has an extensive network of underground galleries for various purposes. Despite the fact that most of the premises of the fort have not been used by anyone for almost 100 years, you will be surprised by the good condition of the infrastructure. Until the mid-1990s, a small part of the fort was used as an object of the Ministry of Defence, at present the fort is completely abandoned.
You will then visit a sea farm along the Voevoda Bay. There you will meet marine biologists and then accompanied by a technologist you will visit the places where scallops, sea cucumbers and oysters are cultivated. This will be followed by a tasting of scallops and oysters (your choice).
Your day's excursion will end with a visit to Fort No. 10 before you set off again for Vladivostok.
